Tip of the Day: QR codes can be an actual goldmine of lead data! Here’s how…

Let’s get nerdy and dirty with QR codes 🤓.

You how you can see who viewed an email? Or your open rates? Or on social media, how many likes, views, saves and forwards you had for a post?

You can get data insights…With your MAILERS.

Crazy, right?

Here’s how:

Whenever a QR codes is scanned, a record is made of that scan.

Every individual postcard (or any mailer) in your farm can have a unique QR code. The key is that no two QR codes are the same on any postcard in your farm.

“Sounds cool James! But how do I do that?”

When you create a QR code, you can name it.

Why not name each QR code with the address of the home you’re going to mail it to?

Then, you’ll know exactly who scanned your postcard, and who you should follow up with!

Scan = interest.

You can create bulk QR codes through some websites - check my resources page for my go-to!

Then you print your mailer with a neat little thing called “variable data printing”.

You know how every postcard has a different address? That's basic VDP. Now high-quality printers will do it with graphics and images, such as QR codes.

Some printers will even offer to make a QR code for you. That's great and all, but you MUST ask them one critical question:

Can I see reporting for who scanned each code?
If not, find a different printer that can.

The whole point is to be able to see who scanned the code.

So here’s the steps all laid out:

1️⃣ Create bulk QR codes.
2️⃣ Assign each QR code to an address.
3️⃣ Upload your postcard design to your printer.
4️⃣ Choose “variable data printing” (my preferred printer is on my resources page)
5️⃣ Import your spreadsheet (your printer should give you a format)
6️⃣ Sit back and wait to see who scans your codes!
And with that, you are officially using postcards, of all things, for data mining your prospects.
